Life in the trenches with 2 Banfield veterinary technicians

Celebrating hero veterinary technicians in honor of National Veterinary Technician Week

This content is sponsored by Banfield.

On this segment of dvm360 Live™, host Adam Christman, DVM, MBA, is celebrating National Veterinary Technician Week. He goes behind the scenes with 2 veterinary technicians from Banfield—Michael Lark, CVT, and Deena Torres, CVT, LVT—to hear their stories from the front lines of veterinary medicine.

The following is a partial transcript. See the full video for more:

Michael Lark, CVT: I like that Banfield creates a positive and like safe environment for me. Me being part of the LGBT community and also black, you know, power at Banfield has really elevated black talent. And you know, Banfield pride has made advocacy very safe.

Deena Torres, CVT, LVT: “[Banfield] encourages us to take on different roles, and whatever we feel comfortable in doing…As vet techs, we could specialize in surgery…We could also advance to being field directors; we could be practice managers,”
