Hillsborough, N.J. -- A growing decline of feline veterinary care in recent years had led to the development of a new set of guidelines for cat care by the American Association of Feline Practitioners (AAFP) and the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA).

National Report -- While the death toll of H1N1-infected domestic cats continues to rise, officials at Safari West Wildlife Preserve in Santa Rosa, Calif., have announced that a cheetah caught the pandemic virus last month.

Las Vegas -- Las Vegas residents will have to make sure they aren't keeping intact pets without a special permit starting this spring or they will have to pay hefty fines.

California -- In attempt to get their ordinances approved before a new state law takes affect that will prevent cities from passing legislation that will interfere with state-regulated professions like veterinary medicine, at least five cities have passed or are about to pass laws banning cat declawing.
