When our owner's out of the building and the technicians perform dentals, does our part-time associate receive credit even if the owner scheduled it and already performed a physical exam?
Q. When our owner's out of the building and the technicians perform dentals, does our part-time associate receive credit even if the owner scheduled it and already performed a physical exam?
"Assuming the dental and anesthesia is performed under supervision of a licensed veterinarian, the supervising veterinarian should receive credit," says Veterinary Economics Hospital Management Editor Mark Opperman, CVPM, owner of VMC Inc., in Evergreen, Colo. "The doctor who originally performed the physical exam and set up the appointment should receive credit on the exam and any other services rendered during that time."
Opperman defines production as the fees generated and collected for services that the doctor delivers or officially oversees. So the doctor formally involved in the procedure should receive the credit.
