Build staff confidence through certificates
Certified thank-yous lead to big payoff.

To build confidence, provide additional performance incentives, and help team members earn a little extra cash, we give staff members four Certificates of Performance Appreciation each month. In turn, team members give them out as special thank-yous to teammates who might have worked late, volunteered to cover a shift, or simply gone out of their way to make the workday a little brighter. Once a team member earns 10 certificates, he or she can turn them in for $50. This helps team members feel appreciated and keeps the staff happy. —Kristy Arbour, receptionist, Watson Pet Hospital; Denham Springs, La.
