NTRA safety alliance receives $50,000 contribution
New York -- The National Thoroughbred Racing Association's (NTRA) Safety and Integrity Alliance, a group formed last year to implement improved safety and medication standards in horse racing, received a $50,000 contribution from Pfizer Animal Health.

-- The National Thoroughbred Racing Association's (NTRA) Safety and Integrity Alliance, a group formed last year to implement improved safety and medication standards in horse racing, received a $50,000 contribution from Pfizer Animal Health.
The alliance, with members representing more than 50 racetracks, every national horsemen's organization, owners, breeders, trainers, veterinarians, jockeys and fans, is in the process of accrediting racetracks in the nation's 38 racing jurisdictions for their compliance with uniform new rules that include a standardized injury-reporting system. Pfizer is the first pharmaceutical firm to partner with the organization.
"Pfizer is proud to support the work of the ... alliance in its efforts toward improved health and wellness for equine athletes," said Kristin Ruff, the company's senior equine marketing manager.
