Our WVC comprehensive 3-day learning Veterinary Technician Symposium has been developed for veterinary technicians who want to help expand practice operations and rev up their careers fast.Offered at the world-famous Oquendo Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, expert mentors using todays most innovative instructional approaches and technology present sophisticated, skill-based training in the primary practice areas of Anesthesia, Dentistry, Emergency and Critical Care, and Pain Management. The 3-day seminar begins with community-building activities and a baseline knowledge assessment via preliminary eLearning. Onsite, the program opens with an inspiring talk by keynote speaker Dr. Dennis McCurnin, Professor Emeritus, Louisiana State University, who defines and encourages participants to consider their "personal branding" along with the importance of maximizing their value in the veterinary profession. Working in small groups, participants rotate through active learning stations that enable everyone present to experience the full extent of authority-centered lectures, workshops, and cooperative small group interaction. Hands-on labs round out the curriculum as individuals work with state-of-the-art equipment under the expert guidance of veteran instructors and knowledgeable equipment representatives. Day two of the program calls on Kara Burns, MS, MEd, LVT, VTS (Nutrition), to share career building pointers.In a dynamic closing presentation, Julie Legred, CVT, Executive Director of NAVTA, describes how each program participant can prepare a personal blueprint for career advancement and increase his or her value within the practice.Registration Fee: $500 Registration includes all instruction, hotel, and meals.
