A movable clinic might be just the right thing for your clientele.

The idea of a mobile veterinary practice may seem unconventional, but it is, in reality, a feasible alternative to the standard brick and mortar facility. In fact, Fetch dvm360 conference speaker Gary Glassman, CPA, believes that a mobile practice can be a customer service win.

"You'll always have a portion of the population who loves it when the veterinarian can come to them," he says.

From a financial perspective, Glassman says mobile clinics can be equally as profitable as those that are in fixed locations. He notes that most practices have a client base focused on distance from the facility: from a one mile radius for urban clinics up to around 15 miles for hospitals in rural settings.

But not if you're on wheels.

"With a mobile practice, you can get to your clients and travel farther and deal with a much more extended client base," he says.
