Veterinarian sues Mariah Carey for $30K

Grammy Award-winning singer allegedly skimped on paying veterinary bills; Carey lawyers plan to fight lawsuit.

New York City veterinarian Dr. Cindy Bressler is suing her high-profile client Mariah Carey for unpaid services.

In papers filed in Manhattan Supreme Court, Dr. Bressler says she performed more than $37,790 worth of services on the singer's three Jack Russell terriers-Cha-Cha, Dolomite, and JJ-between October 31 and December 2 of last year. Dr. Bressler alleges that Carey has paid roughly $8,200 of that bill.

The details of the care Dr. Bressler gave the dogs is not outlined, but she says she provided "extraordinary services."

In a statement issued this afternoon, Carey's attorney Orin Snyder said, "This abusive lawsuit appears to be a crass publicity stunt. As a matter of principle, Mariah intends to fight this baseless case and is confident that it will be dismissed."

Dr. Bressler has not yet commented on the case.
