Ashley Newsome stands out for her “above and beyond” commitment to animal care and her role as a client service representative at Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG). Her 2 award nominators described her as a strong advocate for patients who holds colleagues to the same high standards that she also exemplifies.

“Ashley doesn’t just meet expectations— she exceeds them, taking initiative to ensure that those around her feel supported, heard, and empowered. Her commitment, positive attitude, and willingness to step in wherever needed make her an invaluable asset and a true leader within her community,” a nominator wrote.

Newsome is vital to her VEG clinic as a mentor and morale booster. Outside the daily tasks of her role, she has represented VEG at a local 5K event for pet owners and their dogs by running a booth and engaging with the community, she has organized donation efforts for puppies, and her help has been vital in finding homes or no-kill shelters for abandoned canines. She also works beyond the clinic for the Rover pet-sitting service, “where she continues to provide compassionate, reliable care for pets outside of her primary role,” according to a nominator.

Congratulations to Newsome from dvm360! You can check out the rest of our 2026 recipients, and learn more about Newsome here.
