MADISON - 10/12/05 - The University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Veterinary Medicine received its first full-tuition endowed scholarship by an anonymous donor.
The E.A. Neufeld Family Scholarship Fund will pay for a student's tuition for one year.
The college accepts 80 students per year, out of a 320 student population.
"This new E.A. Neufeld Family Scholarship fund will make a huge difference to a veterinary student," says Dr. Susan Hyland, associate dean for academic affairs.
The school's goal is to raise $20 million for scholarship support. Current sholarship money available is $4.9 million.
