Frederic Lohr, DVM, MRCVS, global operations officer for Mission Rabies, says there are a number of factors that lead to the spread of rabies in endemic countries, including a lack of veterinary infrastructure and the socioeconomic status of citizens.
As Dr. Lohr explains, it is a combination of free roaming and owned pets that contribute to the spread of the virus.
