UF small animal clinical science chair in line to lead WSAVA
Gainesville, Fla. - The University of Florida's (UF) Dr. Colin Burrows was named vice president of the World Small Animal Veterinary Association (WSAVA).

GAINESVILLE, FLA. — The University of Florida's (UF) Dr. Colin Burrows was named vice president of the World Small Animal Veterinary Association (WSAVA).

Burrows, who is chair of UF's Department of Small Animal Clinical Sciences in the veterinary college, is also in line for the international group's presidency in 2013.
Burrows was chosen for the position in part because of his international leadership skills, says Walt Ingwersen, a spokesperson for WSAVA.
An internal medicine specialist, Burrows has been on the faculty at UF since 1980, and headed the Small Animal Clinical Sciences Department since 1996. He also served as chief of staff at the school's Small Animal Hospital up to 2010 and is executive director of the North American Veterinary Conference. Burrows specializes in canine and feline gastrointestinal, hepatic and pancreatic disease.
