
A dozen office and practice managers have newly earned certifications from VHMA
Seven professionals earned the CVPM certification, and 5 earned the CVOM designation.
The Veterinary Hospital Managers Association (VHMA) has announced newly earned certifications. Seven professionals have earned the Certified Veterinary Practice Manager (CVPM) designation, and 5 have earned the Certified Veterinary Office Manager (CVOM) credential.1,2
Certified Veterinary Practice Manager
The VHMA’s CVPM certification program is recognized and respected by practice leaders and others in the veterinary industry, according to the association. The voluntary program is recognized as a sign of professional achievement and excellence and is awarded to those who demonstrate the knowledge and experience necessary to successfully manage the ever-changing operations of today's veterinary practices.1
Prior to taking the CVPM exam, applicants must meet practice management experience benchmarks and demonstrate completion of “sufficient” formal education and continuing education credits. The rigorous CVPM exam assesses relevant management knowledge in human resources, law and ethics, marketing, practice organization, and finance. It is offered electronically at test centers to registered candidates across North America, according to the VHMA.1

Certified Veterinary Office Manager
The CVOM program aims to certify qualified management professionals with a focus on fundamental administrative office tasks, including team leadership roles. This program serves as a testament to professional excellence and expertise, essential for managing the dynamic operations of modern veterinary practices.2
The CVOM examination evaluates candidates across key domains: leadership, administrative management/daily operations and practice organization, human resources, staff management and communication, law and ethics, marketing, and financial management.2
Office manager candidates must meet practice management experience requirements and obtain 2 professional referrals to qualify for the CVOM exam. This exam is accessible to registered candidates throughout North America and is offered electronically at test centers.2
