A new professional organization is now serving credentialed veterinary technicians

The American Association of Credentialed Veterinary Technicians announced its launch April 16, 2026.

The new American Association of Credentialed Veterinary Technicians has been launched. This organization aims to advance representation, advocacy and professional development for credentialed Veterinary Technicians (CrVTs) in the US, according to a news release.

The group was founded by Beckie Mossor, MPA, RVT, founder of the Veterinary Industry Giving Tree organization; and Ryan Frazier, LVT, BS, MBA, the administrative director for the Minnesota Association of Veterinary Technicians, after the pair engaged with credentialed technicians from throughout the veterinary profession. Through conversations with peers, Mossor and Frazier, learned that “many CrVTs feel underrepresented, disconnected, or overlooked within traditional professional organizations,” according to the release. They saw a need for a professional community that aligns the values of many credentialed technicians and would support its members in long-term career growth.

“AACVT was created to ensure that credentialed veterinary technicians are not only heard, but are leading the conversation,” Moser said in the release. “This organization reflects the needs, values, and vision of the professionals it serves.”

The AACVT has a foundation of 4 core pillars. They include the following:

  • Advocacy: Advancing recognition, rights, and professional standards for veterinary technicians nationwide.
  • Leadership Development: Providing mentorship, training, and career growth opportunities.
  • Education: Delivering continuing education and professional development resources.
  • Community: Creating an inclusive space for connection, collaboration, and shared experiences.

The new organization is inviting all credentialed veterinary technicians to join the AACVT and to engage with its initiatives. The AACVT will host a 3-day event, May 1-3, 2026, as part of its launch. This event will include an interactive session with Mossor and Frazier, who will discuss the organization’s mission and answer questions; a day for professional development and continuing education; and a session focused on wellness with a community social event for AACVT members to follow it. Additional details were not immediately available.
