Girl Scouts add first cookie made for dogs to 2027 lineup

Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA) is adding a cookie for dogs to its 2027 Girl Scout Cookie lineup, giving four-legged family members their own way to participate in the annual tradition.¹

Patch Pals, developed with dog-focused company BARK, are soft-baked, blueberry muffin-flavored dog treats made with blueberries. Each treat features 1 of 4 “patch” designs representing iconic Girl Scout experiences.¹

The treats contain 39 calories each, with a guaranteed analysis of 9% minimum crude protein, 5% minimum crude fat, 2% maximum crude fiber, and 20% maximum moisture. BARK recommends the treats as supplemental treats for dogs at least 5 pounds and 6 months of age.²

The treats will be available exclusively online for direct shipping beginning January 12, 2027, when the national Girl Scout Cookie season begins. Local cookie season dates vary by region.¹

The addition was inspired in part by Girl Scouts who advocated for expanding the cookie lineup to meet the needs of their communities, GSUSA said. Patch Pals were developed to celebrate the bond between Girl Scouts and their dogs while giving pets a way to take part in cookie season.¹

The 2027 lineup also will include Girl Scout Sparkables, a crunchy oatmeal cookie with chocolate chips and colorful sprinkles developed with Partake for families navigating certain food allergies. Both new products will be online exclusives.¹

Girl Scout Cookie sales support activities and programs for Girl Scouts, including outdoor adventures, travel, community service, STEM exploration, and leadership development. GSUSA said proceeds remain local to support Girl Scout councils and troops.¹
