New partnership aims to support the diagnosis and management of mobility conditions
The Senior Dog Veterinary Society is collaborating with Antinol Plus, a companion animal supplement brand.
The Senior Dog Veterinary Society (SDVS) is partnering with Antinol Plus, a joint and mobility care supplement brand for companion animals, to support veterinarians in diagnosing and managing mobility issues in senior dogs. The initiative aims to equip veterinarians with education and other resources that support aging dogs.1
The collaboration was designed to pair Antinol Plus’s science with SDVS’s leadership in senior canine care. Antinol Plus and the SDVS seek to equip veterinarians with education and meaningful resources to support dogs as they age. The partners “believe that mobility is essential to lifelong health and happiness,” they said in a news release.1
“Antinol Plus’s mission is to keep happiness in motion for pets and their families,” Ofelia Silva, president of Pet HealthWorks, the distributor of Antinol Plus, said in the release.1 “Partnering with the [SDVS] allows us to ensure veterinarians have the tools and knowledge to help dogs live long, active lives."
Senior dogs are represented in up to 52% of dog-owning households, according to research from MRI-Simmons and GlobalPETS.2 This number equates to approximately 45 to 48 million pets, Antinol Plus noted in a news release.1
The SDVS was founded in 2023 by Lauren Adelman, DVM, DACVIM (SAIM), Monica Tarantino, DVM, MBA, and Lisa Lippman, DVM, with the goal of addressing the growing need for care of senior and geriatric dogs and providing specialized knowledge and resources for practitioners. The organization offers continuing education courses, live events, and branded resources to help improve patient outcomes, as well as opportunities for veterinary professionals to earn credentials through RACE-approved courses.3
The Antinol Plus and SDVS collaboration focuses on whole-life mobility, a growing area of veterinary medicine. As dogs live longer, veterinarians are seeking practical, science-backed solutions that maintain comfort and independence well into a pet's senior years, Antinol Plus noted.1
“Mobility is foundational to a senior dog’s quality of life,” Tarantino said in the release.1 “Partnering with Antinol Plus allows us to spotlight joint health as a daily, proactive part of aging well and to support veterinarians with evidence-informed options that help senior dogs stay comfortable, active, and engaged for as long as possible.”
The SDVS has multiple partnerships with animal health companies in support of the organization’s initiatives. In 2025, the SDVS announced strategic alliances and partnerships with Elanco,
In support of the new partnership with Antinol Plus, Tarantino and Adleman attended the 2026 Western Veterinary Conference event in Las Vegas, Nevada. The pair aimed to meet attendees on February 16, 2026, at the Antinol Plus booth in the conference exhibit hall.1
