This oceanside California site has to a lot to offer attendees during the next Fetch dvm360 event, coming in December
Join us December 1 to 3, 2023, for another engaging learning experience with our Fetch dvm360 conference series, this time in Long Beach, California. Attendees have the opportunity to earn continuing education credits while interacting and networking with peers, friends, and faculty. The conference has moved north from its previous Golden State location in San Diego and will feature 5 keynote presentations and more than 140 sessions, covering equine anesthesiology, neurology, sports medicine and rehabilitation, and plenty more.
What to do while visiting Long Beach
Long Beach offers an abundant amount of marine and aquatic activities. The Aquarium of the Pacific opened in 1998 and has since welcomed more than 1.5 million visitors each year. It is the largest aquarium in California, occupying more than 360,000 sq ft along Long Beach’s Rainbow Harbor. Visitors can see more than 11,000 animals representing 500 species throughout its 100 exhibits, habitats, and theaters.1
Another attraction right on the water is the Queen Mary, an ocean liner that holds the world record for most passengers ever transported on 1 vessel (16,683). The Queen Mary permanently docked in Long Beach after completing its last voyage in 1967. The ship offers daily public tours and welcomes visitors on board to learn more about its nearly 100-year history. Tickets are available on the Queen Mary events website.2
Also worth a visit is the Museum of Latin American Art, which was founded in 1996 and serves the greater Los Angeles area. The exhibits are dedicated to modern and contemporary Latin American and Latinx art, with works by Rufino Tamayo, Roberto Matta, Carlos Cruz-Diez, Frank Romero, Judy Baca, and Ana Mendieta.3
The greater Los Angeles area
Long Beach is also in close proximity to other popular Californian destinations, including downtown Los Angeles, Huntington Beach, and Anaheim. There are multiple sightseeing and historical bus tours of Los Angeles available, whereas Huntington Beach, also known as Surf City, boasts one of the largest recreational piers in the world and an 8-mile biking, inline skating, jogging, and walking trail along the ocean.4 Anaheim is famous for its Disneyland theme park, featuring the Sleeping Beauty Castle and the Disney California Adventure Park.
