Rotation skin flaps: Step 7B
If needed to allow the flap to move into position more easily, consider relieving tension by making a short back cut along the diameter of the circle at the end of the incision opposite the lesion. However, be aware that the back cut reduces the vascular area of the flap’s base. Thus, it should be made judiciously.
