Idea Exchange: Secure sensitive prescriptions

Article

A tip for keeping prescriptions for controlled drugs safe.

We don't stock many controlled drugs, so when a patient needs phenobarbital or diazepam, for example, we write a prescription. Since these are usually written ahead of time, they need to be kept in a safe and secure location until the client picks them up. Our drug locker is kept inside a locked cabinet, so we attach the prescriptions to the outside of the locker with a magnet for easy access.
