Hospital offers free shelter for wildfire victims

October 24, 2007

Los Angeles - 10/24/07 - Firestorms are driving thousands of families from their homes, but they can rest a little easier knowing their pets have a place to stay.

VCA Animal Hospitals is offering free boarding at their Southern California VCA facilities for companion animals of families that have been displaced or evacuated by the continuing wildfires.

The service will continue through Nov. 5, on a space-available basis.

"As thousands of families are being evacuated to shelters or facing the loss of their homes, VCA hopes to ease their burden by offering free boarding for pets so they can focus on the critical issues with their families and homes," says Art Antin, chief operating officer of VCA Animal Hospitals.
