Lallemand Animal Nutrition received a functionality claim for its forage inoculants containing Lactobacillus buchneri. The new claim allows for improved aerobic stability for silage and high-moisture corn stored for not less than 60 days. The company adds that aerobic stability is a major issue for producers because it can cause losses of 25 percent or more. The availability of the high-rate L. buchneri products that can reduce losses is a major step forward for producers, the company adds.
