Is taking a look behind the scenes of veterinary practice a useful teaching tool or management bullying?
Recently, a veterinary associate expressed to the dvm360 team her feeling that video recording exam room interactions at her practice-ostensibly to observe communication techniques-wound up being "a stick to beat everyone about tiny detail."
That might mean a failure at that practice to use the video correctly, says CVC educator Mark Opperman, CVPM.
"This isn't something we're using to find fault," he says of practices he consults with. Instead, these exam room interactions help improve the client experience and ultimately the practice's bottom line.
