False is correct! While the cytologic findings support hepatic lipidosis, they do not rule out other diseases. Previous studies have shown that there may be only 50% concordance between findings from liver aspirates and liver biopsy samples. The argument for obtaining a fine-needle aspirate, however, is that it is easy, does not require anesthesia, and may identify a pathologic process that precludes the need for a biopsy (i.e. lymphoma).
