Arizona wants kennel operators to microchip
Phoenix, Ariz. - Kennel operators will be required to microchip all dogs over the age of 3 months in order to get a kennel permit in Arizona if new legislation is passed.

PHOENIX, ARIZ. — Kennel operators will be required to microchip all dogs over the age of 3 months in order to get a kennel permit in Arizona if new legislation is passed by lawmakers.

House Bill 2431 was introduced Jan. 19 and would exempt nonprofit pounds, humane societies and animal rescue organizations from the new requirement.
The bill also would give local counties authority to implant microchips in dogs when kennels fail to do so.
