KANSAS CITY, MO. - 08/17/06 - The executive director of the nation's only agency to report veterinary licensing exam scores plans to retire this year, sending officials on the hunt for a replacement.

KANSAS CITY, MO. - 08/17/06 - The executive director of the nation's only agency to report veterinary licensing exam scores plans to retire this year, sending officials on the hunt for a replacement.

Charlotte Ronan, who's led the American Association of Veterinary State Boards (AAVSB) since 1995, says she'll work through December. "I have absolutely love it, and I know I'll miss it, but I?m certainly looking forward to another phase in my life," she says.

In the meantime, AAVSB President Dr. Tom Whitley has issued notice that he's accepting resumes including salary requirements and references until Sept. 15. As executive director, the chief paid staff officer reports to the Board of Directors and is responsible for the association?s overall financial management, providing administrative leadership and participating in the formation of policies, procedures and programs.

"The successful candidate will have exceptional communication and organizational skills," Whitley says. "Previously regulatory experience is preferred but not mandatory."
