VCA to reclaim public trading status
Washington - Veterinary Centers of America Inc., Los Angeles-based operator of 211 animal hospitals nationwide, has filed for the second time with the Securities and Exchange Commission to go public and raise up to $242 million.

The company was publicly traded from 1991 to September 2000, when itfinalized a recapitalization with an unnamed entity controlled by bankingfirm Leonard Green & Partners.
The money VCA raises will be used to redeem preferred stock and repaydebt.
