Christopher Pachel, DVM, DACVB, CABC: There are some of my colleagues who really kind of looked at [acclimating a new dog] almost in terms of 3 hours, 3 days, 3 weeks, maybe even 3 months in some cases, but just letting the the [clients] know that this is a process. Within 3 minutes, there's a lot of information coming at those animals, we can't expect them to necessarily process all of that, especially not knowing their learning history, or their previous relationship experiences.
