The Athens Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory is pleased to offer a full day (6.5 CE hours) of companion animal continuing education focused on a variety of skin conditions and diseases in dogs and cats. Topics will include: - Current theory of cutaneous barrier function and topical therapies- Clinical approach to hypersensitivity conditions composed of a lecture followed by an interactive case-based discussion round table- A review of cutaneous microbiology including MRSA (methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureas) and PCR testing- Overview of skin tumors including updated grading schemes for canine mast cell tumors and soft tissue sarcomas and the use of immunohistochemistry- In-clinic treatment modalities for cutaneous tumors
