A roundup of the latest products and innovative technology in veterinary medicine.
To help readers stay up to date with the latest innovations in the veterinary and pet care spectrum, dvm360 has curated a list of recent product and technology launches.
The following are being highlighted in dvm360’s May/June magazine issue:
Free shelter management software
GetBuddy Pro by GetBuddy is a free, cloud-based shelter management platform designed to centralize animal rescue operations from intake to adoption placement. The software allows shelters and rescues to track current and past animals in a single system, including status updates, photos, videos, behavioral notes, and medical histories, while also managing adoption applicants and applications end-to-end. A single integration syndicates adoptable pets across major consumer-facing adoption platforms to expand visibility for adoptable pets.
Online veterinary clinical pathology program
Purdue University’s College of Veterinary Medicine in partnership with Laboratory Retrievers, LLC, launched Laboratory Retrievers continuing education program, a self-paced online program for veterinary professionals focused on clinical pathology. The program uses interactive modules, virtual microscopes, and case studies to teach participants to interpret complete blood counts, analyze cytograms, and identify blood cell morphologic abnormalities. Live weekly sessions are offered for additional guidance.
AI-powered health and GPS pet collar
The SATELLAI Collar Go and its Petsense AI platform is a multimodal wearable system designed to generate individualized health insights for pets. Using on-device and cloud-based analysis, the platform tracks activity, sleep, movement patterns, temperature, and location, and compares those data with breed- and age-based norms to flag potential health changes. The platform features a built-in knowledge engine allows owners to query pet health data through the app, while GPS tracking and AI-informed care and nutrition guidance are supported through the collar.
Custom orthopedic dog shoes
Bark & Sole custom medical dog shoes are 3D-printed, precision-fitted footwear designed for dogs with medical conditions including intervertebral disc disease (IVDD), degenerative myelopathy, arthritis, neurological conditions, and post-surgical paw sensitivity. Each shoe is fabricated using breed-specific geometry and individual paw measurements submitted by owners, rather than standardized sizing. Some of the available styles include a post-surgery shoe, an IVDD Warrior shoe, an arthritis shoe, and an Extra Tailored shoe for dogs with irregular paw anatomy such as missing digits or paw tumors. Shoes are sold individually.
Canine cognitive health supplement
Canine Cognition Support by Standard Process is a powdered nutritional supplement formulated to support brain health and cognitive vitality in healthy aging dogs. The supplement is designed to encourage alertness, awareness, and normal behaviors in aging dogs. The product contains a combination of Ginkgo Biloba, B vitamins, beta-glucans from Lion's Mane Mushroom extract, Panax Ginseng, CoQ10, Swiss chard, and buckwheat, with the ingredients intended to support circulation, neurotransmitter production, and cellular energy metabolism.
Multifunction tick removal tool
TiCK SiDEKiCK by TiCK Solutions Global is a pocket-sized, multi-function utility tool intended to aid in tick detection and removal during outdoor activities. The device includes precision tweezers for removing embedded ticks and a built-in flashlight for increased visibility. The product is available through the company's website, Amazon.com, and select retail partners.
