Conference Insider: Fetch Kansas City offers a variety of ways to earn CE credits
The event will be held August 28-30, 2026, featuring keynotes, hands-on labs, lunch-and-learn sessions, and more.
This year’s Fetch dvm360 Conference in Kansas City, Missouri, will be held August 28-30, 2026. Attendees have the opportunity to earn up to 20 continuing education (CE) credits across more than 45 learning tracks.
New this year are 30-minute CE sessions, each offering 0.5 CE credit. This allows attendees to explore more topics within the traditional 1-hour blocks.
For those seeking a more in-depth experience, Fetch Kansas City will offer a pair of 3-hour hands-on labs: “Tibial Tuberosity Advancement: Introducing MMP” and “Patella Luxation: Introducing RidgeStop.” Both labs will be presented on Saturday, August 29, 2026, by Scott Rutherford, BVMS, CertSAS, DECVS, MRCVS, founding director of frank. Pet Surgeons in the United Kingdom.
Fetch Kansas City will also feature 3 keynote CE presentations, including the following:
- Brian A. Scansen, DVM, MS, DACVIM (Cardiology), professor and director of the Don Lockton Family Heart Center at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, will present “The Murmur Matters: Addressing Mitral Valve Disease in Primary Care” on Friday, August 28, during the morning breakfast session. The keynote aims to help attendees overcome challenges in diagnosing myxomatous mitral valve disease, identify a treatment plan, and communicate care strategies to clients.
- On Saturday, August 29, Michael Lappin, DVM, PhD, DACVIM, a professor of infectious disease at the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at Colorado State University Veterinary Teaching Hospital in Fort Collins, will present the keynote “Hot Topics in Feline Infectious Disease.” This session, sponsored by Elanco Animal Health, will be held during the day’s breakfast session, with additional information to come.
- Michael C. Petty, DVM, CCRT, CVPP, CCVMA, owner of the Arbor Pointe Veterinary Hospital and the Animal Pain Center in Canton, Michigan, will deliver Fetch Kansas City’s final keynote of 2026 in the afternoon on Sunday, August 30. Petty’s session, “Reading Between the Algorithms: How AI is Changing Pain Detection and Management in Veterinary Patients,” will explore how artificial intelligence (AI) is rapidly advancing and being integrated into clinical practice.
Additionally, Fetch Kansas City attendees can optimize their time by participating in mealtime CE sessions. These sponsored opportunities include food provided on a first-come, first-served basis:
- Leland McKay, a CE educator for Legally Mine, will present his lecture “Safeguarding Wealth: Lawsuit Prevention and Tax Strategies” twice. These sessions will be held with lunch provided to the first 45 attendees on Friday, August 28, and with breakfast provided to the first 45 attendees on Saturday, August 29.
- Trent Homec, MBA, executive director of business development for Monarch Practice Transitions, will present “Exit Strategy Essentials: Retaining Your Team Through a Practice Transition” in the evening on Friday, August 28. Dinner will be provided to the first 45 participants to arrive.
