Pet owners are suing Gaston, S.C.-based Diamond Pet Foods and two SouthCarolina grain suppliers because the company's food killed or sickened their pets. The contamination, which led to more than 100 canine deaths on the East Coast, was the result of a fungus that grew on overly moist corn delivered to Diamond. Since the deaths, Diamond has voluntarily recalled the brands and added new safety checks.
