Neck Conditions & Practical Neurology for Practitioners - A 2-Day Practical

Event

Date: February 24 - February 25, 2017

Description:

Horses with neurologic signs are regularly seen in equine practice and diagnosing a specific disease can be challenging. This practical course was designed to provide veterinarians with the theoretical and especially the practical skills to competently examine diagnose and treat horses affected by such conditions. One of the main goals of this course is to provide equine practitioners with the knowledge and skills on how to reliably differentiate ataxic horses from animals with front- and hindlimb lameness. In the afternoons, the 7 hours of practical small group sessions (2 4 vets per ultrasound machine) will cover the following topics and more: Cervical fusion surgery and myelogram demonstrations; CSF collection techniques; cervical facet joint injections; nerve blocks for headshakers.
