ioVet releases Healthy Gums

November 11, 2021

This first-of-its-kind molecular iodine-based canine and feline health product promotes gum and periodontal health.

By 2-years of age, approximately 80% of dogs and 70% of cats have some form of periodontal (perio) disease1 which is characterized by the destruction of supporting bone and ultimately, loss of teeth. Symptoms include bleeding or swollen gums, pus around teeth, and continual bad breath.

To help combat these statistics, ioVet, an entirely owned division of Iotech International Inc, has unveiled its latest product, Healthy Gums—a patented, first available molecular iodine-based canine and feline dental product that supports gum and periodontal health while freshening breath and promoting overall well-being.

According to a company release,2 Healthy Gums is added daily to a pet's drinking water and provides an economical solution including less than 1 teaspoon full per quart of water. It begins working immediately to significantly reduce dental plaque formation. Less plaque leads to healthier pet oral gum tissue, ergo reducing teeth staining, discoloration and malodor. Additionally, this easy-to-use, effective solution bodes well for pets with an aversion to toothbrushes.

“I wish pet owners spent more time focused on the health of their pet’s teeth and gums,” said Andre Jones, PhD, chemist and director of R&D at ioTech International, in the release.2 “Just like people, pets are living longer and need better oral care over their lifespan. Placing a molecular iodine water additive into their drinking bowl is the simplest way to help your pet maintain gum health and avoid, nasty, stinky pet breath.”

What's more, a recent study cited by the release2 found that using molecular iodine as a water additive is 177% more effective than brushing every 2-days, and 444% more effective than brushing weekly. As a result, molecular iodine earned the Veterinary Oral Health Council’s (VOHC) prestigious Seal of Acceptance for its effectiveness in safely decreasing pet dental plaque formation.

Molecular iodine is also being used successfully in human dentistry as demonstrated by the Iotech ioRinse product, which is a first choice among leading periodontists along with a complete of line of dental products based on molecular iodine.2

Healthy Gums is exclusively available directly from Iotech International at www.iotechinternational.com/consumer-store or by calling them at 561-509-0205 ext 5. Receive a 50% discount off the price of ioTech International’s 4-product Intro Kit that features Healthy Gums for a limited time.
