We reuse gel ice packs to numb the area between a pet's shoulder blades before placing a microchip.

We reuse gel ice packs to numb the area between a pet's shoulder blades before placing a microchip. We have found that if we wet the area with alcohol, the cold is conducted better. After a minute, we place the microchip without a whimper from the pet.
