At our reception counter, we have a pedestal designed especially for clients to place a cat carrier. The pedestal has a piece of carpeting from the entryway on top and a sturdy structure to minimize movement. We also have similar shorter pieces next to our reception seating. Our clients immediately recognize the structures' purpose and always use them. Cats seem more comfortable off the floor, and clients appreciate having their pets closer to them.
