Our practice created a warm-air blanket by using a grooming dryer and attaching a Styrofoam box over the air outflow. We then attached a piece of vacuum tubing to direct the airflow to our blanket—a piece of disposable surgery drape taped on all sides. We regulate the temperature and airflow with the dryer controls, and we notice a real difference in the warmth of our patients.
