Flexible GI Endoscopy
Date: November 09 - November 09, 2015
Description:
Four hours of lecture will cover instrumentation, techniques, and common endoscopic abnormalities given as case examples. Techniques presented include esophagoscopy, gastroscoscopy and duodenoscopy. Specific procedures, such as foreign body removal, PEG feeding tube placement, esophageal stricture management and biopsy methods, will be covered. During the four-hour hands-on laboratory, each participant will use a state-of-the-art video endoscope and have enough scoping time to become familiar with upper GI endoscopy, biopsy techniques, and foreign body removal. There will be three participants per dog, and each person will have the opportunity to endoscope at least two different dogs. Technicians may also register to attend the lecture, observe in the laboratory and will learn basic endoscopic equipment care.
