Ophthalmic disease is very common in horses. The purpose of this 2-day course is to provide general equine practitioners with the necessary tools to diagnose and treat a variety of equine ophthalmic diseases. This comprehensive course is appropriate for both new and experienced practitioners looking to develop or further refine their skills in equine ophthalmology. Didactic lectures will review key concepts, including examination techniques, management of common diseases, and surgical procedures. Guest speakers include the world-renowned equine ophthalmologist, Dr. Dennis Brooks and equine practitioner, honorary member of the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists (ACVO) and past AAEP president, Dr. Ann Dwyer. Information from lectures will be reinforced during the laboratory sessions using both live animals and cadavers. Participants may invite their owners/patients with current ophthalmic disease for interactive examination and diagnosis during the lab at no charge to the owners. Space is limited and cases will be accepted on a first-come-first-served basis.Lectures Only: 6.5 CE Hours Lectures & Wet Lab: 10.5 CE Hours
