Event

Date: June 12 - June 12, 2014

Description:

Creating a Cat-Friendly Practice Sponsored by the Humane Society Veterinary Medical Association Presenters: Elizabeth Colleran, DVM, MS, DABVP FelineDescription: Cats can present a special challenge to veterinarians -- while we would like to see our feline patients more often than they might be coming in, the clinic setting can be especially stressful for cats. But becoming a cat-friendly practice may not be as difficult as you think! Join us for this webinar, which will discuss the unique nature of cats and their experience in the veterinary setting and describe alterations that can be made in the small animal practice to better accommodate the needs of cats. Specific examples of handling techniques that can ease the arousal level of cats during an exam will also be provided. Topics covered include: Bayer Veterinary Care and Usage Study III, Feline Findings, The unmet need for routine veterinary care in cats, The natural behavior and characteristics of cats, The common barriers to an acceptable veterinary visit, Methods of stress and arousal reduction, The Cat Friendly Practice, The presentation will conclude with a Q&A session.Date: 6/12/14 8-9:30 PM ETCost: FreeCE: 1.5
