Conference Insider: Fetch Kansas City offers something special
dvm360's annual conference in Missouri introduces the 2026 Veterinary Heroes and features unique opportunities to network and learn
The Fetch dvm360 Conference series is returning to Kansas City, Missouri, with a 2026 agenda that promises a variety of continuing education (CE) opportunities and special events that celebrate the veterinary profession. During the conference—scheduled for August 28-30, 2026—dvm360 will recognize the 2026 class of Veterinary Heroes, celebrate at the Fetch Afterparty, and provide unique CE content that aims to maximize attendees’ time.
Veterinary Heroes
The dvm360 Veterinary Heroes program will recognize its 2026 winners during an awards presentation luncheon at Fetch Kansas City. This awards program “recognizes individuals who have achieved landmark successes within the profession and have made measurable contributions to advancing animal health, client service, practice excellence, and patient outcomes,” according to a news release. Honorees are selected by a panel of judges comprised of previous Veterinary Heroes.1
"The 2026 Veterinary Heroes represent the very best veterinary medicine professionals whose skill, heart, and commitment make a real difference every single day," Sharon Albright, DVM, director of veterinary continuing education at dvm360, said in the news release.1 "Recognizing them at Fetch Kansas City will feel especially meaningful because this community understands better than anyone the dedication it takes to do this work. We couldn't be more proud to celebrate them."
The awards luncheon will be held on Sunday, August 30, at 12:15 PM local time. Conference attendees are invited to attend.2
Fetch Afterparty
Conference networking and socialization moves out of the Kansas City Convention Center and into the city’s entertaining Power and Light District. This Saturday night event will be held at the No Other Pub starting at 6:30 PM on August 29, 2026.3
The afterparty is an opportunity to make new friends and mingle among industry peers. It also offers craft drinks, tasty food, interactive games, and more. DJ Ashton Martin will provide energetic beats.3
Admission to the afterparty is complimentary. Conference attendees need only a badge to enter and enjoy the evening.3
Unique CE opportunities
New to Fetch Kansas City this year are 30-minute CE sessions. Each offering 0.5 CE credit, these 30-minute sessions allow attendees to explore more topics within the traditional 1-hour blocks.3 Among the 0.5-credit CE sessions are “5 tips on how to beat burnout for you and your staff,” presented by Brian C. Conrad, CVPM, with Meadow Hills Animal Hospital in Kennewick, Washington; “Equine endocrine diseases,” presented by Kate L. Hepworth-Warren, DVM, DACVIM (LA) with the Equine and Farm Animal Veterinary Center at North Carolina State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine in Raleigh; and “How to perform a successful orthopedic exam,” presented by Philippa Pavia, VMD, DACVS-SA, an experienced surgery specialist and a medical leader in New York, New York.4
For those seeking a more in-depth experience, Fetch Kansas City also offers a pair of 3-hour hands-on labs: “Tibial tuberosity advancement: Introducing MMP” and “Patella luxation: Introducing RidgeStop.” Both labs will be presented on Saturday, August 29, 2026, by Scott Rutherford, BVMS, CertSAS, DECVS, MRCVS, founding director of frank. Pet Surgeons in the United Kingdom.4
