Other diseases associated with excess fat and weight include decreased life expectancy, insulin resistance in dogs, respiratory disease, cranial cruciate ligament injuries, kidney disease, urinary incontinence, many forms of cancer, reproductive problems, skin diseases, decreased wound healing, surgical complications, and anesthetic complications.6,7
