DEAR DR. STENSKE:

We have a positive cryptococcus on this cat 7-20-10. Chem normal except glob 6.8 and alb 2.1., wbc 27,820. Primarily granulocytes, dec lynphycytes. Rbc 7,420 mild dehydration. Faint positive leukemia neg fiv. Diarrhea positive hooks. Adv multi, drontel and panacur given separately.cat is treated with fluconazole 50 mg bid, polylex, fluids, convenia, metronidazole, probiocin and albon. Diarrhea only slightly improved, however eats on own after 1 wk.large abscess drained above lesion.need suggestions for diarrhea control. Thank you dr. Faith drumheller

P.S. I am Dr. Drumheller's daughter and when we were medicating this cat it slung it's head and got mucus in my eye, we rinsed it 4 times but we were wanting to know how contageous it is to humans and how you can get it because one of the other employees have had similar exposure with this cat? I have sent three before and three after pictures they are all dated and we are so happy with the improvemnt, we thought when she came in that we would not be able to save that right eye but it seems to be doing fine!

Thanks so much,

Jess at Opp Vet
