AAHA released 2026 diabetes management guidelines for dogs, its first standalone canine edition, changing insulin options, monitoring, and treatment approaches.

The American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) has released its 2026 Diabetes Management Guidelines for Dogs, the first time AAHA has published guidance for dogs separately from cats. The update reflects how much canine diabetes care has changed since 2018, touching everything from insulin options to monitoring technology.
