AVMA opposes "guardian"
The AVMA has released a white paper detailing its stance on using "guardian" to describe the pet owner's relationship to his or her pet.

The AVMA has released a white paper detailing its stance on using "guardian" to describe the pet owner's relationship to his or her pet. The AVMA says don't use it. "Use of guardian may create legal questions and consequences that have the potential to adversely affect both the animals and humans involved in these relationships," the AVMA says in "Animal Guardianship."
