Description:
Are you comfortable with repair of simple fractures? Are you looking to move to the next level and take on more challenging fracture repair? If so, this is the course for you. This course will teach techniques used to repair more difficult comminuted fractures of the humerus, radius, femur, and tibia. Fractures of the metaphysis and diaphysis will be addressed. This course will also teach the principles of articular fracture repair. Fractures involving the joint surface require anatomic reduction and rigid stabilization to reduce the chance of osteoarthritis and produce a positive outcome. Participants will learn techniques used to repair humeral condylar fractures and femoral head fractures. This course will familiarize participants with advanced fracture repair techniques through lecture and clinical case presentations. Following lecture and case review, participants will repair fractures on plastic bone models and cadavers. Postoperative radiographs will be taken to evaluate the participants repair technique.
