This is a 4 day conference featuring the latest information on Advanced Animal Hospice, Palliative Medicine, Pain management, Business marketing and management, Pet Loss Support. This year for the first time we will also have tracks for Veterinary Technicians and Mental Health Professionals interested in Animal Hospice. CONFERENCE FEATURES AND HIGHLIGHTSPet Loss Support Track We are so excited this year to offer a full day track on pet loss support, presented by Coleen Ellis, a pioneer in bereavement training for pet care professionals. This track will be offered Thursday, October 20th. Cost is $160 and includes lunch. Improve your support skills and those of your staff by attending this amazing pre-conference session. It's another must-have for anyone in the field.Euthanasia Technique Laboratory Following in tradition, Dr. Cooney has organized three hours of euthanasia technique learning.Using small animal cadavers, Sunday's hands-on lab will demonstrate common techniques as well as some that may be new to you, such as intrarenal injections in cats and small mammals. This is a great opportunity to refresh your anatomy knowledge, discuss sedation protocols, paw print making, and of course, share ideas with fellow veterinarians and team members. Participation is limited to 30. Cost is $50. Lab is held Sunday, Oct. 23rd from 1-4 pm.Saturday Night Dinner EventWe are pleased to once again bring you our Saturday night dinner event, including silent auction to benefit the Animal Hospice Certification Program development. Items include artwork, hospice/palliative care supplies, grieft support materials, and much more. There will be entertainment during the meal. Additional cost for dinner is $50 for conference attendees, $75 for guests. Launch of Module 2 in our Animal Hospice and Palliative Care Cerfication ProgramThe IAAHPC Certification Program opened on June 15th. The first participants have already begun Module 1, a 25-hour introductory hospice online course. This conference marks the undertaking of Module 2, which is participation in conference itself. We welcome our certification program participants and wish them the best of luck as they continue in their studies!Tracks Designed for Veterinary Technicians and Social WorkersThis year, we bring you daily tracks designed for technicians and social workers. These can be attended by anyone, but focus will be applied to these fields. In 2017, we envision a Social Worker Certificate Program will be offered in Animal Hospice and Palliative Care.Self-Care SessionsIn the spirit of 'Supporting You', our theme this year, we will be offering physical and mental self-care sessions to envigorate and revitalize. These sessions will be offered early morning and throughout the day.Well-respected Leaders in the Field of Animal HospiceWe are pleased to welcome excellent presenters to our conferences every year.
