Gabapentin, an anticonvulsant commonly for managing pain and seizures in animals, has shown effectiveness in calming cats during veterinary visits. Commonly reported adverse effects include drowsiness, muscle relaxation, and impaired balance, but these usually resolve within 10 hours.
