Securos introduces the Securos Toggle Rod for hip luxations. The togglerod is manufactured from the highest-grade implant stainless steel. Thetoggle has grooves down its length for the suture to sit in during insertion.The hole in the toggle rod that the suture passes easily accepts 120-poundmonofilament suture.

The toggle rod currently comes in one size (18-inch diameter x .5-inch)that can be used on most cases, the company says.

Mechanical testing shows that the Securos toggle rod is mechanically betterto the k-wire alternative, the company says. The toggle rod has been testedat leading universities.
