Chad Johannes, DVM, DACVIM (SAIM, Oncology), assistant professor of veterinary clinical sciences at Iowa State University, talks about how veterinary oncology has experienced tremendous growth in the last 25 to 30 years.
There were less than 2 dozen board-certified veterinary oncologists in 1990 and now there are over 400 in the United States. There has also been an increase in education and awareness for pet owners about new therapies they can pursue for their pets in this field.
