Spanish handouts increase the number of clients and client compliance for one hospital.
Catering to your clients is just good business. But how do you do it? Start with something as simple as a handout. That's what Joanne Light, LVT, practice manager at the Paradise Pet Hospital in Las Vegas did.
"Our area has a high Hispanic population, which leads to a high percentage of Hispanic clients," she says. "For many of these clients, English is their second language. Although they may understand and speak English, many have trouble reading it." To accommodate these clients, team members translated their most common handouts into Spanish. This has helped improve client understanding and compliance, Light says. The new handouts have even helped attract new Spanish-speaking clients, she says.
